The added power is expected to shave nearly one second off the car's zero-to-60 acceleration time. Customers have the flexibility to bypass the monthly subscription by choosing an annual subscription or a one-time flat fee. Chinese car maker BYD is set to launch its affordable small SUV, the Atto, in more markets later this year. The Atto features a 60.5 kWh battery and has a range of 420 km. It also includes cutting-edge battery technology with the cobalt-free Blade Battery using Lithium Iron-Phosphate (LFP). The Blade Battery is claimed to be cheaper and 50% more energy-dense than a conventional lithium-ion battery. BYD has already made a name for itself in Asia and could replicate this success in Europe if they keep prices low enough to entice buyers to a relatively unknown car maker.
